Ryan Poehler, BSB '18

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Project Manager @U.S. Bank

Ryan graduated from the Carlson School in 2018 majoring in marketing and nonprofit management. While in school, Ryan was actively involved in Delta Sigma Pi, Carlson Ambassadors, Net Impact, and Compass. He helped co-start Compass: Undergraduate and served as the first Executive Director, overseeing the first Alumni Reunion. He also co-created the online inclusion campaign “Connecting Carlson” which featured diverse stories from the Carlson community with videos reaching over 10,000 views. After graduation, Ryan began his career in marketing at U.S. Bank – but quickly realized that his passions aligned more with creating a more equitable business community. He currently serves as a Business Integration Project Manager on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team for U.S. Bank. Outside of work, Ryan is a virtual volunteer for the Trevor Project, serves as a mentor for first-year Carlson students, and channeling his inner Jennifer Lopez by planning his sister’s wedding.


Vicki Raport, BSB '86

Co-founder and former CEO @Quantum Retail Technology, Inc.

Vicki Raport is the Co-founder and former CEO at Quantum Retail Technology, Inc., a company that designs, develops, and implements big data analytics and machine-learning optimization software for leading global retailers. Quantum was a bootstrap start-up that became a high-growth company that was acquired in October 2015 by a strategic enterprise software company. Since the sale of Quantum, Vicki focuses her time on providing strategic board and advisory services to growth and innovation companies, predominantly in the retail and technology sectors. She is also actively engaged in Minnesota based philanthropy with organizations such as Social Venture Partners Minnesota and Open Arms Minnesota.


Dr. Brent Opall

Assistant Professor of Management @University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire

Dr. Brent Opall is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. His primary teaching focus is Strategic Management in a Global Business Environment. While at the Carlson School, Dr. Opall developed and executed School’s equity and diversity strategic plan as the Director of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Education. He was responsible to increase diversity of the student body, infuse core values of equity and diversity into the student experience, and promote access to business education for underrepresented populations across all degree granting programs including undergraduate, MBA, MA-HRIR, and Ph.D.
